In this incredibly moving and beautifully shot entry, Anthony Gilmore shares with us a glimpse into the life of Craig Morrey - a 40 year old American living in Okazaki, Japan. His three-year- old son, Spencer, is severally handicapped with cerebral palsy and requires around the clock care. via bbc.co.uk My friend and fellow multimedia extraordinaire Satomi Okane (http://goo.gl/5BlR) edited this here piece. A very moving story and great insight into the challenges of parenthood.

Just thought I'd share something that's inspiring, and also let's everyone know that young folks ARE ready to stand up and take over, if given a fair chance and proper guidance. Savannah Britt was a published poet by the age of eight. By nine, she was hired as a paid reviewer of children’s books for The Kitchen Table News – a New Jersey newspaper with a readership of 70,000. I'll be leaving the company I've worked at since returning to Japan a year ago, and joining a local publishing / media company www.whiterabbitpress.com - they're the folks who produce the world's no.1-selling kanji flash cards, kanji poster, and who recently have started producing audio tours of Tokyo (Kabukicho and Akihabara so far). I'm playing with a new toy called Twitcam here. With this service, I can use my twitter account (@starrwulfe) to broadcast live streams to the twitter world and then archive them later. So what's different about this vs. Qik? Live twitter-powered chat. Others can tweet the broadcast live and leave messages, or in my case, ask me questions about things. So if you have a twitter account and webcam, try it out for a spell. It didn't work to bad IMHO.

via qik.com Walk with me under the world's largest train station. Train stations are also home to large shopping concourses here in Japan, and I walk 500 meters twice a week to connect from one station to my office. ((tags: japan, train, station, walk, tour, random))
